Technology has been performing a great job in quenching humans thirst for knowledge. Used appropriately with guidance, technology provides unparalleled tools to explore boundless sources of knowledge. Modern temples of knowledge- schools and other educational settings- have been showing great interest in installing modern technology equipments to make the process of teaching and learning easier and more effective.

Projector is one of the few inventions that form the foundations of a really solid tech-based classroom. A projector- an optical instrument that projects enlarged text or image onto a screen- makes the classroom more colourful and resourceful, and takes teaching to a new level.

Ever since its emergence, projectors have been proving to be Educators one of the best techno friends. Educators can display power point files, multimedia, videos and similar contents to their large groups of students with bigger images, which enhance students retention of information presented. Projectors come mostly under two technologies, viz. DLP (digital light processing) and LCD (liquid crystal display).

A DLP projector projects images by reflecting lights against hundreds of tiny mirrors, known as digital micro devices, each of which represents one pixel. DLP projectors are easier to handle as they are smaller in size and lighter in weight than their LCD equivalents. A DLP projector is capable of projecting better images than comparable LCD projector as it is all digital technology and typically features higher contrast ratio.

An LCD projector operates by beaming light via transparent LCD cells. It technology splits light into three poly silicon panels, one each for the red, blue and green. Images on the bigger screen are produced by the blend of light beaming through the LCD cells. Both, DLP projector and LCD projector, have the potential to engage tech savvy students in a dynamic and immersive way by delivering multi-dimensional curriculum to a large class with astonishing image quality.
When it comes to a large audience, LCD or DLP projector proves to be very beneficial as it can enlarge images and project them onto a large screen or surface. Teachers single book can be read by all students present in the class at a time with the help of a projector. Bigger images produced on a screen or other flat surfaces by a DLP projector or LCD projector makes it easier for students even in the back row to read and grasp text or other material.
A projector can be used to display small map or places in the map, such as states, capitals, islands etc, in close details. Classrooms designed around DLP/LCD projectors can bring subjects to life by integrating text, audio, graphics and motion videos. Furthermore, students gain an opportunity to experience interactive simulations, internet excursions and digital imaging-based presentations and much more.
